SAINT LEO, Fla. – In another key Sunshine State Conference matchup, the Saint Leo University Men's basketball team had its work cut out Saturday evening, as the Lions managed to stay atop Embry-Riddle (Fla.) the entire game to come away with an 85-79 win at the Marion Bowman Activities Center to sweep the Eagles on the 2022-23 season.
The win was the 10th overall for the Lions (17-8, 8-6 SSC) in its all-time series against the Eagles (15-7, 8-7 SSC).
Saint Leo's three-point performance played a pivotal part, as the Lions shot 10-of-22 (45.5%) from long range while limiting ERAU to 27.3% from beyond the perimeter. The Green & Gold hit 51.8% overall from the floor and knocked down 17-of-18 (94.4%) from the free-throw line.

Marty Jackson nearly matched his season-high with 26 points and shooting 60% from the field, including perfect marks from beyond the perimeter (2-for-2) and the charity stripe (6-for-6). Freshman guard
Logan Ryan came alive from outside the arch, scoring all 18 of his points from long range, finishing the night with a 60% 3-pt. percentage.
Ryan's first three-pointer made 12 seconds into the contest set the tone for Saint Leo from start to finish, as the Lions held the lead the whole game with the Eagles only coming within one point of the Green & Gold.
The Lions are back on the hardwood floor Wednesday, as the team travels to Tampa to face the Spartans. Tipoff at the Bob Martinez Athletic Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
