Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team fell to #8 Eckerd 76-69 in the last game of the regular season.

After the victory, the Lions are now 14-14 overall and 7-14Â in Sunshine State Conference play.

The first quarter started off strong for the Lions who took the early lead in the quarter but the Tritons were quick to answer back. The final score after one was 16-16.

Both teams started on the wrong foot early when it came to turnovers as the amount reached double digits before the start of the second quarter.

Momentum changed at the start of the next quarter was Eckerd was the one who started hot after a three point shot gave them an early quarter advantage. As the quarter was coming to a close, the Lions pushed back by bringing attacking the paint consistently and successfully.

The Lions were scoring late in the second quarter, but the whistle was not going there way and mistakes put them at just about level with a narrow 33-32 lead at half.

Saint Leo came to fight in the second half as the noise at the Bowman and the intensity of the team's bench carried the emotion of the whole team. The Lions went into the fourth quarter with a massive 11-point lead versus #8 Eckerd.

The fourth quarter saw the Tritons doing some clawing back of their own through the free throw line. They scored 13 points from the line out of a possible 14 to close the game out and survive the overwhelming attempt from the Lions.

The final score was 76-69 in Eckerd's favor.

Amanda Ulrich who put up 22 points while shooting 3-3 from behind the arc.
