INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Saint Leo University Men's tennis team came ready to play Friday, as the third-seeded Lions defeated sixth-seeded #9 Hawai'i Pacific 4-1 at UIndy Tennis Center.
The Lions swept the Singles matches against the Sharks, leaving two matches unfinished. All four wins were in two sets. Sophomore
Vincent Thiel led the way with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Jan Heine.
Of the three Doubles matches, the Green & Gold fell in two of them, allowing HPU its lone point of the match. The lone win came from the duo of Thiel and fifth-year
Ghali Mensour, besting Jan & Ole Heine 5-2.
Saint Leo is back in action Saturday against second-seeded #2 Columbus State. First serve is slated for 11 a.m. EST.
