SAINT LEO, FL - In a highly anticipated Sunshine State Conference home opening matchup, the Lions faced off against the Eckerd Tritons. The Lions battled to the end of the buzzer but ultimately couldn't pull out the victory, falling 81-73.
 
The first half saw the Lions facing a five-point deficit as Eckerd took an early lead. However, Saint Leo's Kanon Koster emerged as a force to be reckoned with, scoring an impressive 33 points on 12-15 shooting. Koster's performance, coupled with Cantia Rahming's 11 points and 10 rebounds, kept the Lions in contention.
