Saint Leo, Fla. – The Saint Leo University volleyball team (8-5, 3-4 SSC) dropped their matchup against SSC rival Palm Beach Atlantic (6-8, 1-5 SSC) Friday Evening.
This match started off very competitive with both teams exchanging leads back and forth. The Lions started off set one very aggressive out gate led by
Reagan Hopp who led the first set with four kills. The momentum shifted back and forth throughout the first set, but the Sailfish were able to claim set one 24-26.
Shelia Rodriguez was impressive defensively being a vocal leader for the Lions while registering five blocks on the night.
Oliwia Durka secured a double-double with 11 kills and 24 assists.
Julia Panko also chipped in with eight kills, respectively.
The Lions had 34 kills on the night and battled tough against a formidable opponent. They look to regroup and bounce back.
Saint Leo is back on the hardwood floor for a quick turnaround Saturday Oct. 7 to face Nova Southeastern; the first serve in the Marion Bowman Activities Center is scheduled for 4 p.m.
