SAINT LEO,Fla. -The Saint Leo women's basketball team will welcome Lynn University for a Sunshine State Conference battle on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM.

Last Game
The Green & Gold played #8/20 University of Tampa Wednesday evening. The Lions battled the nationally ranked Spartans keeping the game close for the majority of play. The midweek conference battle featured back and forth play with the nationally ranked #8/20 University of Tampa and the Saint Leo Lions. Both teams exchanged the lead six times throughout the game and had eight ties.

Amanda Ulrich finished as the top scorer for the Lions with 24 points. She shot 9-of-22 from the field, and 4-of-12 from three-point range. Alex Button was right behind her finishing second on the team in points with 15. Button hit some clutch shots late in the game to keep the Lions battling with the nationally ranked Spartans. She shot 5-of-12 from the field and finished perfect at the line for the Lions at 5-for-5.

Player to Watch
Amanda Ulrich currently leads the Lions in scoring entering the weekend conference showdown against Lynn University. The senior from Secaucus, New Jersey is averaging 18.9 points per game, which leads the Sunshine State Conference. She currently sits in eleventh in the conference for field goal percentage at .497, ninth in free throw percentage at .843, and fourth in three pointers made at 32.

Scouting Lynn University
Lynn University is led by Julia Tucker, who is coaching his 7th season with the Fighting Knights. The Fighting Knights head into the midweek battle currently fourth in the Sunshine State Conference at 11-4 and 4-3. Lynn University is led on the court by graduate student guard Jada Marone, who averages 14.0 points per game, and 34 steals.

The Lions will travel to Lakeland, Florida to take on conference opponent Florida Southern for a midweek battle, Wednesday, January 11^th. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
