Women's Basketball Hosts #8/20 University of Tampa Wednesday

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Women's basketball team welcomes #8/20 University of Tampa (12-1, 4-1 SSC) to the Bowman Center Wednesday evening. The Lions will look to bounce back after falling short to Barry University on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 5:00 PM.

Player to Watch
Amanda Ulrich led the way for the Lions against Barry University Sunday with 27 points on 8-of-12 shooting, three assists, and two steals. The senior from Secaucus, New Jersey is averaging 18.5 points per game, which leads the Sunshine State Conference. She currently sits in eighth in the conference for field goal percentage at .509, sixth in free throw percentage at .854, and fifth in three pointers made at 28.

Adaramoye Named SSC Defensive Player of the Week
The Sunshine State Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday afternoon. Junior Forward Jumoke Adaramoye was selected as this week's Defensive Player of the Week. Adaramoye's play impacted the Lions, leading the charge on the boards for the Green & Gold against Flagler University on Friday, December 30th. The junior collected a team-high 18 rebounds (four offensive and 14 defensive). Adaramoye made her presence known in the paint collecting two blocks as well and forced turnovers collecting two steals. Against Barry University on Sunday, Adaramoye finished with seven rebounds and a team-high three steals. The award is Adaramoye's first SSC honor and first, career weekly award.

Scouting the #6/#4 Spartans
#8/20 University of Tampa is led by Tom Jessee, who is coaching his 21st season with the Spartans. The Spartans head into the midweek battle currently second in the Sunshine State Conference at 12-1 and 4-1. University of Tampa is led on the court by senior forward Sydney Kin, who averages 17.9 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game, and 1.8 blocks per game.  currently leads the Sparta, averaging 17.9 points-per-game. In the Spartans backcourt, sophomore guard Audrey Ramsey averages 11.5 points per game, and leads the team in assists per game at 5.4.

The Lions will return to action in the Marion Bowman Center to take on conference opponent Lynn University for a weekend battle, Saturday January 7th. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
