SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team defends the Marion Bowman Activities Center as Barry University comes to the Lions home court for a Sunshine State Conference matchup.
The Green & Gold head into the weekend matchup at 9-9 overall, and 2-8 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Last Game
The Lions kicked off the wednesday night conference showdown against Rollins College with a great start leading by 15 points in the second quarter. Freshman Ana Astapenka had an impact for the Lions scoring 10 points in just under 10 minutes played shooting 4-5 from the field.
Amanda Ulrich led the Lions offense with 12 points. The visiting Tars fought back to steal the lead from the Lions late in the fourth quarter to defeat Saint Leo, 64-56.
Player to Watch
Ulrich heads into the midweek showdown currently leads the Sunshine State conference in scoring with 338 points on the year. The senior is averaging a team-high 18.8 points per game. She currently sits in fifth in 3-PT Field Goals per game at 2.2, and fifth in minutes played per game at 33.4.
Scouting Barry
Barry University is led by 3rd year head coach Kristina Baugh. During her three-year reign, Baugh. has led the Bucs to an overall 21-16 record. Rollins currently sit in 7
th place in the Sunshine State Conference at 4-6. The Bucs are led by Junior guard Chiara Fusari who leads the Barry offense with 10 points per game.

The Lions will go back on the road to Melbourne, FL for a midweek Sunshine State Conference game versus Florida Tech on January 25th. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
