SAINT LEO, Fla. – The home opener for the Saint Leo University Men's soccer team continued to display its fiery start on the 2022 campaign despite rough weather conditions from Mother Nature, but the Green & Gold's attack was just as fierce Thursday night as the Lions cruised to a 10-0 win at Saint Leo University Soccer Field.
In front of a crowd of 211, Saint Leo (3-0) totaled 39 shots against the defense of Trinity College (0-2). Sophomore Forward
Luca Tiozzo picked up a hat trick on the night in eight shots. Sophomore Forward
Noah Kvifte picked up two more goals on the season as the reigning Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week played 32 minutes.
Sophomore Forward
Sebastian Inigo gave the Lions their first good goal in Penalty Kicks of the 2022 campaign.
Due to the consistent rain, the match was concluded with 15 minutes left of regulation.
"It was great to be back on our home pitch tonight and to get another clean sheet" said Head Coach
Brett Parker. "Tonight was a great chance for us to see a lot of guys in a game situation and they did a great job. It's nice to start the season 3-0 but we know we have another tough regional battle on Sunday to prepare for."
