BRADENTON, Fla. - The No. 3 Saint Leo tennis team, seeded third in the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Tournament Championship, blanked No. 25 Rollins, seed sixth, 5-0 on Friday to advance to the quarterfinals. The Lions opening day victory raised their overall record to 19-2 overall and set the stage to meet No. 2 Nova Southeastern on Saturday, who is seeded second in the postseason championship.
 
The Green and Gold clinched the doubles point seeing wins at the second and third flights. No. 16 Nina Furmaniak recorded the team's second match point, taking the second singles match at ease; 6-0, 6-0.
 
Up by two, No. 48 Kamilya Shailina finished her fifth flight match (6-1, 6-1) while No. 19 Marta Vicens Miquel tallied the fourth point. Vicens Miquel defeated No. 36 Alexandra Borg (6-1, 6-2).
 
Alina Fedulova made things official securing the win at the fourth flight; 6-1, 6-4.

The SSC Tournament Quarterfinals will feature the Saint Leo Lions and Nova Southeastern Sharks starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23. The tournament continues at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. hosted by Barry University.
