SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team fell 22-8 Wednesday night to No. 1 Tampa under the University Turf Stadium lights. The Lions put together 17 shots on goal on their way to 30, won 21 faceoffs, went 14-17 on clears, and tallied 10 saves but couldn't upset the top Sunshine State Conference foes.

Tampa (13-0, 5-0 SSC) outscored Saint Leo (5-6, 0-4 SSC) in the first three quarters. In the fourth, the teams each registered two goals apiece.

Ryan Marek and Kienan Schillo led the scoring for the Green and Gold with two goals.
Evan Wray and
Reece Hrycan also added two points to the mix, each with a goal and an assist.
Michael Flores went 19-29 at the face and picked up a dozen groundballs for the Green and Gold.

In goal,
Steve Lauter earned the start followed by eight saves.
Evan Hock took over the last 15 minutes in the cage, where he registered two stops.

Saint Leo will look to bounce back on Saturday, April 16 against Rollins. The Lions and Tars are set to face off at 3:00 p.m. at University Turf Stadium. Before the opening face, Saint Leo will honor its' senior class of 2022.
