SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's tennis team, ranked 9
th nationally, remains perfect after hosting the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks, who are ranked 14
th nationally. The Lions caged the Warhawks 5-2 to raise its' overall record to 6-0 while Auburn Montgomery's record dropped to 5-2.
The Warhawks got ahead taking the doubles point with wins from the first and third flights.
Saint Leo go to work in singles action to flip the script.
Marta Vicens Miquel, ranked 39
th nationally, cruised to a 6-1, 6-4 first flight decision.
Nina Furmaniak and
Celina Ermann secure their matches to bring the score to 4-1.
Lavinia Lancellotti bagged a 6-1, 7-6 (2) fifth flight win. Meanwhile
Kamilya Shailina won her career's second match at the six spot; 6-2, 6-4.
On Monday, March 7 the Lions return to the Saint Leo Tennis Center to host Wingate starting at 3:00 p.m.
