SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 8 Saint Leo women's tennis team squeezed in a match at the Saint Leo Tennis Center on Wednesday and shutout the Northern Iowa Panthers, 7-0.
The number one and two doubles teams picked up wins for the Lions.
Nina Furmaniak and
Maria Valverde Soler won their contest 6-3 and
Marta Vicens Miquel and Lavinia Lancelloti won their match 6-2.
In singles, every Lion won their matches in two sets.
Celina Ermann had the easiest time for the women, winning 6-0, 6-1 in her match. Errmann is now 10-0 on the season. And
Nina Furmaniak won her contest in a close battle with her opponent, 6-4, 4-3.
The Lions will now get ready for a quick turnaround and face Quincy at 9:00 AM at the Saint Leo Tennis Courts on Thursday, March 17.
