SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's basketball team returned to the win column on Friday night inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center taking down Trinity Tigers 96-56. The victory marked the first game of the two-game series against the non-conference Tigers. Saint Leo will head into Saturday with a 9-11 overall record, remaining 5-9 in the Sunshine State Conference as they Green and Gold prepares to host Trinity on Saturday, Feb 5 back in the Bowman at 11:00 a.m.
The Lions shooting was on fire, shooting 54-percent from the field propelled by
Grant Disken with 24 points, the freshman guard's career-high. Disken went 10-for-13 from the hardwood, sinking 4-of-6 shots from downtown. On the line, he went 4-for-6 and added four assists and three steals to his big night.
Cantia Rahming wrapped up the night just shy of a double double with 16 points and game-high nine rebounds. Disken and Rahming were joined in scoring double figures by Robert Fry with 13 points and
Malik Tyson with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Saint Leo scored 50 points in the paint and converted 22 points off of turnovers. The Green and Gold bench contributed 63 points as 11 Lions saw minutes against the Tigers.
Tip-off for tomorrow is set for 11:00 a.m. as the team prepare for back-to-back action.
