MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's basketball team ended the 2021-22 season at Barry on Saturday; the Lions fell 99-89 to the Buccaneers. Saint Leo concluded the season with a 12-15 record, 7-13 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Jared Coomer paced the Lions with 28 points followed by
Francis Sio and
Frank Webb Jr. with 18 points apiece and
Cantia Rahming with 14. Webb Jr., a senior guard, tallied a double-double, in his last game with the Green and Gold. Webb Jr. pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.
Barry edged Saint Leo by four points in the first half and notched six additional for the 10-point win. The tight game entailed six lead changes and had the score leveled four more times.
The Lions cut the score to within five at 82-77 with 5:20 left on the clock. But the Bucs answered the Lions' late push with a six-point run, which ultimately closed the door.
