SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Saint Leo women's basketball team defeated Flagler College thanks to a late game 21 point run. The Lions defeated the Saints 72-41 Friday afternoon.
With the win Saint Leo improves to 9-3 on the season.
The Friday afternoon non-conference battle featured some back and forth scoring with both teams trading points early in the first half combining for three lead changes. The Lions would turn on the jets in the second half to steal today's game with a huge 23-2 run over nine minutes of play.
The Green & Golds biggest lead of 31 points game at the one-minute mark during the fourth quarter. The Lions held their lead for a total of 34:13 minutes over the Saints.
Saint Leo commanded the boards with 51 totals boards on the afternoon. Jamoke Adaramoye led the charge, grabbing a team-high 18 rebounds. The Lions attacked the Saints in the paint for a majority of the game, scoring 30 points in the paint.
Amanda Ulrich led the Lions in scoring with 17 points. Ulrich also finished with five boards, four assists, and one steal.
Kiki McIntyre finished the afternoon with 16 points and a team-high 4 steals. The Green & Gold finished the afternoon with 14 steals.
The Lions will travel to Miami Shores to battle conference opponent Barry University to bring in the new year. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
