SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Men's basketball team is off to Puerto Rico this week, as the Lions will face a pair of University of Puerto Rico teams in Arecibo and Carolina.
Saint Leo (6-4, 2-2 SSC) is set to travel to Puerto Rico for the first time since its November 2013 contest against UPR-Mayaguez, as the Lions take on UPR-Arecibo Thursday before playing the Jaguares UPR-Carolina in a two-day series Friday evening and Saturday morning.
The Green & Gold will look to get back on the winning path after an 89-84 overtime setback to Sunshine State Conference foe Eckerd College. Saint Leo saw Fifth-Year forward

Kanon Koster scoring 19 points.
This month, the Lions' field percentages continue to show impressive marks, shooting nearly 52% from the floor and 42% from beyond the arch. head into Puerto Rico boasting the 10th-best field percentage (.509), including a 3-pt. percentage over 36%.
Saint Leo's perimeter defense has also seen strides in December, averaging teams to under 30%.
Contests against Arecibo and Carolina will be the first meetings for the Green & Gold in program history. Tipoff against the UPR-Arecibo Wolves at Cancha UPRA is set for Thursday at 4 p.m.
