Women's Basketball Travels to Johnson University

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team (3-0) travels to Kissimmee to face non-conference opponent, Johnson University (0-2), Monday evening. Tipoff is set for 5 P.M.

Last Game
Saint Leo defeated Trinity Baptist College Saturday Afternoon, 106-37. The Lions will improve to 3-0 on the season, marking their best start since 2014-15 season. The Lion's defense had a huge impact during this non-conference showdown. Saint Leo forced a total of 59 turnovers, snagging 32 steals against Trinity Baptist. Tamara Shash and Anastasiya Astapenka played a huge role on the defense recording a team-high six steals a piece. Jumoke Adaramoye was right behind her with five steals. Saint Leo would keep the pressure on Trinity Baptist throughout the first half going into the locker room with a 51-point lead.

Players to Watch
Astapenka is coming off a career-high game where she recorded a team-high 15-points, seven rebounds, and six steals. Alex Button leads the Lions' offense with a team-high 50 points and will play a huge role for the Lions from the perimeter. Amanda Ulrich is right behind Button, second on the team in points tallying 47. Adaramoye will be looking to crash the boards for the Lions', she has grabbed 18 boards this season, leading the Green & Gold.

Looking at the Suns
Johnson University is led by head coach Andrea Ayala. The Suns head into this Monday's non-conference battle currently holding a 0-2 record. Christina Jackson currently leads the Suns' offense with a team-high eight points.
