TAMPA, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Women's swimming team competed in a Sunshine State Conference dual meet against #5 University of Tampa, and appeared to have the upper hand before the Red & Black came back to win seven, straight events as the Lions fell to the Spartans 131-54 Saturday at the Riseman Aquatics Center.
 
Saint Leo set the tone early and appeared poised for a potential upset.  The Lions struck first in the first event of the day, as the team of Sophomores Romane Cayla and Elze Bielskute and Juniors Vanda Vöröshazy and Isabelle Sering won the 400-yard Medley Relay with a time of 3:52.47.  
 
In the next Women's event (200-yard Freestyle), Graduate Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello won with a 1:53.81 mark but was tenths of a second off from a provisional cut.  Sering, however, would make a provisional cut in the 50-yard Freestyle (0:23.77) that was enough to win her event.

The Green & Gold conclude its two-day series with the Spartans Sunday, as the first event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
