Women's Basketball Welcomes Trinity Baptist Saturday

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Women's basketball team looks to continue their season-opening success this weekend. The Green & Gold will welcome Trinity Baptist College to the Marion Bowman Activity Center, Saturday afternoon. The Lions are looking to start 3-0 for the first time since the 2014-15 season. Tipoff is set for 3:30 P.M.

"We want to see our players continue their roles and be able to do them well. Whether it's Jenni Whitlow off the bench to shoot a three or Alanis Diaz to cleanup every offensive board. Our players are aiming to develop into their roles. More importantly how do our players buy into those roles" said Head Coach Anthony Crocitto.

Last Game
Saint Leo completed their opening weekend sweep by defeating #20/24 ranked opponent, Lee University, Saturday, November 12. Alex Button led the Lions' offense with a team-high 22 points. She went an impressive 4-5 outside the arch helping contribute to Saint Leo's total three-point percentage of 33.3%. Amanda Ulrich was right behind Button contributing 20 points of her own.

Player to Watch
Alex Button has been dominant for the Lions to start the season. She has led the Green & Gold in total points through their first two games, tallying 38 points. Button had an impressive .600 three-point percentage and finished the weekend going 6-10 from the perimeter. She showcased her offensive skills against Alabama Huntsville during the Lions' home opener Friday night, scoring a team-high 16 points.

Looking at the Eagles
Trinity Baptist College is led by 7th-year head coach Judy Allen. The Eagles head into this weekend's battle currently holding a 3-2 record. The Eagles defeated Wesleyan College Thursday night, 70-44. Emma Parrish leads the Eagles with a team-high 66 points, right behind her is Triniti Snead tallying 52 points for the season. Parrish is currently shooting 13-28 with a .464 percentage from three.

The Lions will travel to Kissimmee on November 21st to face non-conference opponent Johnson University. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 PM.
