SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University Men's basketball team had a fantastic showing in its 2022-23 home debut, dominating Johnson University Tuesday night with a 113-55 win at the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
The Lions (2-1) had five players post double-digits in scoring, as the Green & Gold shot nearly 70% from the floor and 48% from beyond the perimeter. Saint Leo's perimeter defense was as equally impressive, allowing 18.2% of shots from outside the arch while limiting the Suns (0-4) to under 37% from the court.
Guard
Kanon Koster led the way with 19 points, shooting 80% from the field. Redshirt Fifth-Year Guard
Francis Sio came off the bench to produce 17 points, fueled by a 50% performance from long range. Fiftth-Year Forward
Marty Jackson was nearly perfect (8-for-9), tallying 16 points on the night. Sophomore Forward
Cantia Rahming notched a double-double on the night with 15 points and 12 boards, shooting 7-for-9 while picking up a pair of steals.
Saint Leo remains at home Saturday as the Lions open its Sunshine State Conference schedule with Florida Tech; tipoff at the Marion Bowman Activities Center is slated for 6 p.m.
