SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo University Lions and Atlantis University battled Wednesday night at Saint Leo University Soccer Field, as the Lions won 5-1 over the Atlaneans in exhibition play.
With a fierce fight from both teams, Saint Leo took the lead in the first half 1-0 with a goal scored by Sebastian Inigo.
Early in the second half, the Lions gained momentum when Noah Kvifte scored from an assist by Miguel Fernandez for the go ahead 2-1 lead against Atlantis.
After many shots on net, Fernandez and Felipe Ruiz scored against the Atlaneans, with the Lions outshooting Atlantis 24-11.
The Lions will continue their hard work, preparing for the team's road match on Saturday against Embry-Riddle University; kickoff is set at 7 p.m.
