Schedule Change for Men's and Women's Basketball

Feb 19, 2021

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Due to CoVID protocols with Florida Tech, the Saint Leo men's and women's basketball games slated with the Panthers have been postponed. The Lions' men's program will instead turn its attention to Tampa and travel to the Bob Martinez Center Saturday (Feb. 20) for a 4 p.m. tip. The women are still searching for their season opener, eyeing Feb. 24 at Florida Southern.

Saint Leo (0-1) men's basketball looks to get revenge on the Spartans (1-0) after falling 79-75 on Feb. 17. In the setback, the Lions saw Jared Coomer notch a team-high 18 points. Just behind him was his older brother, Wade Coomer, who scored 14 points with Rusty Moorer and Frank Webb Jr. falling in just behind with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Along with his 11 points, Webb tallied a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double in his first game in the Green and Gold. Scoring in their debut were Cantia Rahming (seven points), Luke Haasl (five points), Chase Villers (three points), and Grant Disken (three points). Rounding out the scoring was Gintaras Bartaskas with two points.

Tampa saw Max Jones drop a game-high 23 points in the win over the Lions Wednesday night. Derrick Felder (19 points) and De'Andre Harvey (13 points) were the only other two players in double-figures for the Spartans.
