SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo volleyball team played the second of a five-match road swing Saturday afternoon at Florida Tech falling 3-1 in Melbourne. Seniors

Brooke Turner posted double-digit kill performances but it was not enough to slow down the Panthers who earned the home victory.

The Loss drops the Lions record to 5-9 on the season while falling to 1-5 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Panthers earned just their second win of the season improving to 2-13 overall and 2-5 in league play.

Quero led the Lions with 21 kills on 46 swings while posting her second-straight .300-plus hitting percentage performance at .348. She added a team-best four blocks including one solo stop while also earning six digs and a service ace. Turner chipped in 14 kills on 32 swings while digging up five balls.

Senior setter
Anna Garrett posted a double-double with 33 assists and 10 digs while also contributing a team-high tying two service aces and three blocks. Senior
Payton Bellano took the team lead in digs with 14 while also handing out six assists.

The Green and Gold hit .239 as a squad but was bested by Florida Tech's .257. The Panthers also out-blocked the Lions 9-7.

Katie Erdman led the Panther attack with 22 kills while libero Erin Arbour dug up a match-high 25 balls.

The Panthers won the opening two sets 25-22 and 25-19 before the Lions earned a strong 25-16 third set victory. The momentum did not carry over to the fourth for the Lions as the Panthers rebounded to win the match with a 25-22 victory.

The Lions will now begin preparation for their next road contest at Rollins Friday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. Â
