Saint Leo Releases Women’s Basketball 2021-22 Schedule

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University released the 2021-2022 women's basketball program on Friday. Sixth year head coach Anthony Crocitto along with his staff, assistant coaches Tesh Johnson, Nola Carter, and EJ Harrison, ready a 15-deep roster for the first full season of the decade.
 
Coach Crocitto expressed, "We are very excited for two Division I exhibition games, home for UCF and at FAU." Saint Leo will host the University of Central Florida (UCF) in a home exhibition match on Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. Following the home action, Saint Leo will continue its' preseason matchups against another Division I program, traveling to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) on Friday, November 5.
 
On Friday, November 12 the Lions will open their 28-game season against the University of Alabama in Huntsville during the Regional Crossover hosted by Lee University. Following the neutral site season opener, the Lions will play a total of 13 contests on the road. The Green and Gold will enjoy 15 games in the Marion Bowman Activities Center, making their first appearance on Wednesday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. hosting the Flagler Saints. Saint Leo will face Flagler twice, as the Lions and Saints will meet again for a Thanksgiving showdown on Wednesday, November 24 in St. Augustine.
 
The non-conference schedule also features St. Edward's University, Texas A&M International, and Southern New Hampshire and Lake Superior State, who will visit the Bowman Center for a three-day tournament starting on Friday, December 17.
 
Saint Leo and Florida Tech are scheduled for an early Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opener on Saturday, November 20 in Melbourne. The Lions will be tested a second time on the road in their next conference meeting at Eckerd before their first SSC tip-off at home, in which the Green and Gold will welcome the Eagles from Embry-Riddle.
 
Crocitto continued, "Our non-conference schedule is dynamic and compliments our rigorous conference schedule tremendously. Our non-conference schedule will make us better in the long run. We are also very excited for the full slate of SSC games as the conference delivers competition each and every night."
 
The full season brings excitement with the Lions coming off their second consecutive SSC Tournament Semifinals appearance. Crocitto returns 2020-2021 CoSIDA Academic All-District, and 2019-2020 SSC Freshman of the Year, Amanda Ulrich along with 2020-2021 Newcomer of the Year, Tori Lesko, and all-conference second team members Alex Button and Kiki McIntyre.
 
In addition, Crocitto signed four freshman and welcomed graduate student transfers, Alyanna Trigg and Briana Trigg.
