#5 Lions Snatch Top-10 Victory

LAKE NONA, Fla. – The Saint Leo Lions, who are ranked fifth nationally, returned to the outdoor courts on Wednesday following the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Indoor Championships. The Green and Gold brought home a fifth place finish and met Hawai'i Pacific, who is ranked ninth nationally, to return to action in the sunny State of Florida. The Sharks of Hawai'i Pacific captured a third place finish at the ITA Indoor Championship. The Lions and Sharks met each other at the USTA National Campus. Saint Leo won the midweek match, defeating Hawai'i Pacific, 4-1.
 
Saint Leo (5-3) pulled ahead, taking the doubles point with victories from second and third doubles. Hawai'i Pacific (7-5) earned its point at six singles. The Green and Gold snatched wins at second, fourth, and fifth singles. Ghali Mensour clinched the match for the Lions at the four spot, leaving the rest of the matchs unfinished.

Saint Leo continues action on the road to Pensacola, Fla. for a three game stint at University West Florida. The Lions will open their stay in the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Complex on Friday, March 6 against Auburn Montgomery, starting at 2 p.m. (ET).
