SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Saint Leo acrobatics and tumbling closes its inaugural season in a loss at No. 8 Converse Thursday night in the Sally Abney Rose Complex. In their first season of competition, the Lions' season was shortened due to health concerns of COVID-19 (coronovirus disease 19) as the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) followed suit with the NCAA and cancelled the 2020 championships where the NCATA went a step further and cancelled all regular season meets.
The Lions posted their second highest total in four meetings posting a 241.040 against the Valkyries. Converse scored a 267.490 to beat out the Green and Gold.

INSIDE THE RESULTS
- Saint Leo opened up with a 32.25 in the compulsory event before a 26.45 in the acro event for a 58.70 after two events.
- The Lions followed the first two events with a 28.25 in the pyramid and a 27.35 for a four-event total of 114.300.
- The Green and Gold posted a score of 45.650 in the tumbling event for a 159.950 before heading posting an 83.19 in the team event to close the night.
Saint Leo and King were scheduled to meet on Sunday, March 15 to mark the first home meet in program history but the Tornado canceled travel forcing the Green and Gold to wait another week. With the spread of COVID-19 eminent, Universities and Colleges are taking precaution and cancelling the spring season where the NCAA cancelled all spring championships. The NCATA followed suit and cancelled the postseason while also adding in the regular season meets as well. The Lions will look to the offseason and regroup adding new faces to the 2020-21 team and look to compete strong in the spring of 2021.
