SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team dropped a 74-60 decision to Eckerd Wednesday night in the Marion Bowman Activities Center. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for Saint Leo, while Eckerd recorded its seventh straight win.

Saint Leo (14-13, 10-9 SSC) was paced once again by its' rookie point guard,
Amanda Ulrich. The Secaucus, N.J. product compiled 24 points and eight rebounds. She was followed by
Alani Gallagher and
Gina Brierley with 14 and 11 points, respectively.
Alex Button grabbed a game-high nine rebounds but was held to six points.

Eckerd (20-5, 16-3) pulled ahead in the second quarter, going on a 17-0 run. The Lions' cold bout lasted for over eight minutes. Saint Leo finally marked the scoreboard again with three good free throws, which cut the Triton's largest lead of 14 points back down to 11 for a halftime score of 41-30.

Saint Leo shut down Eckerd in the opening minutes of the third quarter. The Green and Gold broke out a 11-2 run to cut the gap to two points, 43- 41, at 6:19. Despite the quick turnaround efforts, the Tritons found their rhythm again, forcing the Lions to trail by nine. Eckerd took the fourth quarter for the ultimate 14-point victory.

- Ulrich's 24-points is her third straight 20-plus performance, recording her ninth career, and her 23rd game scoring double-digits.
- Saint Leo will host the Sunshine State Conference quarterfinals as the SSC fourth seed on Tuesday, March 3. The hosting rights to the postseason in the program's first time drawing a top-four seed to be a home in the tournament.
