SAINT LEO, Fla. – Ashlee Wilsynski and Ashley Salvett of the Saint Leo women's lacrosse team were named Sunshine State Conference Players of the Week on Monday. Wilsynski, a freshman attacker, was named the SSC Offensive Player of the Week while Salvett, a senior defender, took the Defensive Player of the Week title. The dual awards followed a perfect week for the No. 23 Saint Leo Lions as the Green and Gold defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 16-15 and upset No. 13 Limestone 16-11.
 
Ashlee Wilsynski earned her career's first weekly nod compiling 11 points. She scored six goals, with a pair of hat-trick performances, and dished out five assists. Wilsynski also added five draw controls, a ground ball, and caused a turnover.
 
Salvett picked up her second all-time SSC weekly honor, her first of the early 2020 season. She gave the Lions consistent possession, winning 16 draw controls. Her presence off the draw was built upon with seven ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
 
The reigning players of the week, along with the rest of the No. 23 Saint Leo Lions, return to action on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Naples, Fla. meeting the Red Hawks of Roberts Wesleyan. The neutral site game is set for 1 p.m. at Barron Collier High School.
