  • Saint Leo swimming returns to action in 2020 with a meet at Sunshine State Conference rival Lynn Friday afternoon.
  • The Saint Leo men's program continues to be ranked 21st in the TYR/CSCAA Division II Poll while the women remain at 23rd.
  • The men are currently 2-1 on the season in dual meets with victories over Rollins and Florida Tech and a tough loss to 16th-ranked Florida Southern
  • The women are a perfect 3-0 with wins at Rollins, at Florida Southern and at home versus Florida Tech.
  • Saint Leo has seen two swimmers earn Sunshine State Conference Swimmer of the Week honors including sophomore Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello on the women's side and sophomore Hampus Lovinge on the men's side. Bonsanti Feniello broke the program record in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:03.22 at the Spartan Invitational prior to the holiday break.
  • Lynn's women's team received votes in the most recent TYR/CSCAA Division II Poll and carry a 3-2 mark into Friday's dual meet. The Fighting Knights most recently fell to Carson-Newman 146.5-96.5 at home. The men are 0-5 in dual meets in 2019-20 and most recently fell to CNU 153-89.
  • HISTORY: The Fighting Knights men's team is in its first year of competition while the women fell to the Lions twice last season. The Lions defeated the Fighting Knights 128-124 in a close meet to open the 2018-19 season and then won in a neutral battle with Lynn 135-127 in Melbourne, Fla. late last season.

  • Saint Leo added another Sunshine State Conference win on Saturday in a dominant 76-52 decision hosting PBA. Alani Gallagher led all scorers with 17 points while Amanda Ulrich notched 13 points for the Lions. Abby Zeitsiff and Alex Button chipped in with nine points for the Green and Gold. Nina Robinson paced the team in rebounding with a game-high eight boards as Button dished out a game-high seven assists.
  • On the season, Ulrich is shooting a 39.9 percent from the floor while averaging 14.6 PPG. The rookie is backed up by Button (12.7 PPG) and Gallagher (12.3 PPG) on the offensive side of the ball. Off the boards, Gallagher has taken care of business with 7.7 RPG. Gallagher leads the SSC in blocks with 1.5 stops a game.
  • As a team, Saint Leo averages 73 buckets a game, shooting 43.1 percent from the field, 37.8 percent from three-point range, and 66.6 percent on the charity stripe. Off the boards, the Green and Gold pulls down 38.4 RPG. Saint Leo hits the road standing ninth among the current SSC standings.
  • Lynn earned its way back into the win column on Wednesday, defeating Nova Southeastern, 78-71. Previously, Lynn's six-game win streak was stopped by Eckerd on Saturday, Jan. 4; 69-55. Saturday's victory showcased a 28-point performance by Uloma Enyogasi, who went 10-of-14 from the floor and knocked down seven free throws.
  • On the season, Enyosasi paces the Fighting Knights averaging 13.5 PPG followed by Sarah Baer (13.2 PPG), and Taylor Jones (10.9 PPG). Baer has been a big presence inside for Lynn as the senior forward registers 9.9 RPG.
  • As a unit, Lynn scores 70.1 PPG, shooting a collective 43.6 percent from the field, 31.6 percent beyond the arch, and making 70.1 percent of free throws. The Fighting Knights average 35.6 RPG, just shy of the Lions season average. Lynn will enter the night as the fourth seed among the current SSC standings.
  • HISTORY: Last year, the Fighting Knights swept the Lions. Lynn defended its home court 67-50 on Jan. 2, 2019 followed by a tight 55-49 decision in the Marion Bowman Activities Center on Feb. 6, 2019. In the Lions' last road trip to Boca Raton, Fla., Alani Gallagher and Madelin Lang earned a team-high eight points. Lang snagged a team-high seven rebounds while Gallagher tallied three blocks.

  • Saint Leo looks to get back to winning after dropping its most recent game 89-76 to Palm Beach Atlantic on Jan. 4. In the loss, Kyran McClure paced the team in scoring with 28 points whie Isaiah Hill (14), Rusty Moorer (11) and Ty Forman (11) joined in double-figures.
  • On the year, the Lions are paced by Kyran McClure with an average of 20.4 points per game while Isaiah Hill rounds out the double-figure average with 13.4 ppg. Rusty Moorer is on the cusp at 9.6 ppg.
  • Saint Leo continues to lead the SSC in scoring defense holding opponents to just 67.3 ppg, ranking 26th in the nation. The Lions' offense is 1oth in the SSC at 73.4 ppg.
  • Lynn hosts the Lions after knocking off no. 4 Nova Southeastern, the number one scoring team in the nation, 78-75 Wednesday night. In the win, the Fighting Knights saw Christian Peevy lead the way with 22 points, just ahead of Brandon Bornelus (21) and Jordan Allen (18).
  • On the year, the Fighting Knights see five players average double-digits per game in Christian Peevy (19.0), Jordan Allen (18.4), Darius Moore (12.2), Brandon Bornelus (10.9), and Brandon Ellis (10.7).
  • Lynn enters the matchup with the fifth best scoring offense team in the conference at 84.5 ppg, ranking 36th in the nation. The Fighting Knights are ninth in the league in scoring defense allowing opponents to score 81.0 ppg.
  • HISTORY: Lynn holds a 38-11 advatage in the all-time series with a three-game win streak over Saint Leo including both games a year ago. The most recent matchup saw the Fighting Knights sneak away with a 74-71 win in the Marion Bowman Activities Center where Kyran McClure led the Lions with 26 points.
