SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo University Athletics is pleased to announce an exciting new event in partnership with the Student Government Union and Campus Activities Board which will kick off the Spring semester, Hoopapalooza. The event will take place as part of the Saint Leo women's and men's basketball doubleheader with Barry on Saturday, Jan. 18. Several giveaways are scheduled throughout the evening with one lucky fan earning a chance at $10,000.
 
Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. with the first 500 fans receiving a complimentary Hoopapalooza t-shirt.
 
Following two great periods of women's basketball, students will have the chance to "Settle the Score" in the Chick-fil-A versus Popeyes chicken sandwich battle. A total of 200 sandwiches will be distributed at halftime of the women's game with students having the opportunity to vote for their favorite chicken sandwich. Tickets will be distributed inside the gym for those lucky enough to score a free sandwich with distribution taking place inside the breezeway following the performance of Saint Leo University's Gold Rush dance team.
 
In between the women's and men's games there will be bingo for all those in attendance. Several great prizes will be up for grabs so make sure you grab a bingo card in between games for a chance to win.
 
The final and most anticipated promotion of the night will be the $10,000 half-court shot which will take place at halftime of the men's game. Sign-ups will take place in the breezeway across from the concession stand. The contest is open to all fans and a contestant will be drawn late in the first half of the men's game.
 
There will also be several small contests going on throughout the night with many opportunities for fans to see themselves on the Marion Bowman Activities Center video boards.
