Saint Leo only took two shots in the 90 minutes, both coming in the first half. The pair outlasted the 23 shot efforts by the Mississippi College Choctaws. The Choctaws ripped 11 shots in the first half followed by 12 takes in the second.
Julia Ortiz earned her 24
th start between the pipes for the Green and Gold. The senior goalkeeper had a stellar game with seven saves. Helping Ortiz was senior
Rebecca Anderson, who saw all 90 minutes of action on the backline.
Saint Leo returns to action on Sunday, September 8 to host the West Alabama Tigers. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at the Saint Leo Soccer Field.
