The Lions dropped the opening set despite holding an early lead for a majority of the set. Saint Leo climbed out to a four-point lead, 7-3, Barry wouldn't go away and closed the gap before the Green and Gold could regain the distance and make it seven, 21-14. The Bucs wouldn't stop and tied things in the opening set at 24-24 on four straight points before Barry took a 1-0 lead on its home court.

Saint Leo once again came flying out of the gates in set two, 5-2, but the Bucs once again closed it to 6-6. Six straight for Barry made it 12-6 before eventually closing the set with a 25-19 score for a 2-0 lead in the match.

After a tight opening in set three, the Lions rattled off five straight to take a slight 13-11 edge. Barry would chip away at the score and tie things at 20-20, but it would be the Lions taking set three 25-21 trading two points for one down the stretch.

Barry would seal the match with a 25-23 final set after an early lead. Saint Leo took a late lead, 19-17 and 23-21, but was unable to hold onto it to tie things dropping the set on four straight points to the Bucs.
