SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team (3-4) remains undefeated at home after a late offensive burst lifted the Lions 3-1 over the visiting Montevallo Falcons (2-3-1).
Wednesday's non-conference offensive action was fueled by
Elias Niesigk who netted his season's first goal in the Lions' opening tally in the 36
th minute. Niesigk went on to assist
Federico Toschi in the 88
th minute.
Niesigk's early goal was answered in the second half by Montevallo. The Falcon's Vladik Margolin converted a penalty kick in the 72
nd minute.
Saint Leo broke out a pair in the last three minutes. Niesigk found Toschi followed quickly by an unassisted goal by
Dylan Moriera.
Christian Evans earned the win in the net putting up five stops.
Saint Leo will defend its home streak against conference foe Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m.
