MOBILE, Ala. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team (3-1-1) ran away with a 4-1 victory at Spring Hills (1-3) on Friday. The Green and Gold took a one-goal lead at the half and added a trio in the second for the confident non-conference win.
Adriana Tirado netted the Lions' opening goal in the seventh minute. After the break,
Sydney Chase broke out a pair of header goals in the 50
th and 86
th minutes of the game. In between Chase's tallies,
Carolina Solis-Deleon slipped one past the Badgers goalkeeper in the 77
th minute.
Julia Ortiz earned a save for Saint Leo during 63 minutes of play.
Alyssa Abernot closed out the game in the net, her first appearance between the pipes for the Green and Gold. Abernot faced three shots in her 27 minutes of work.
Saint Leo continues play on the road at No. 17 West Florida on Sunday, September 22. Kickoff between the regional foes is set for 1:30 p.m. (EST) at the UWF Soccer Complex.
