COLUMBUS, Ga. – The No. 23 Saint Leo Lions' early start fell short against the Christian Brothers Buccaneers last-minute jolt in Sunday's 2-1 final to close the Columbus State Women's Soccer Tournament.
The Lions (2-1-1) saw

Briana Yamamoto, score her first goal in the Green and Gold in the 24
th minute. Ten minutes later, the Buccaneers (2-2) tied it up for a 1-1 score at the half.
It wasn't until the 89
th minute that the match was decided by Christian Brothers. Hannah Ward lifted the Buccaneers over the Lions seconds before the final whistle.
The Buccaneers outshot the Lions 17-14. Saint Leo forced six saves by the Bucs' goalkeeper while
Julia Ortiz put up for saves for the Lions.
Saint Leo returns to action on Friday, September 20 at 4 p.m. on the road at Spring Hill, located in Mobile, Alabama.
