SAINT LEO, Fla. – Former Saint Leo baseball student-athlete
Jared Morello recently signed a professional contract with the Joliet Slammers of the Frontier League. The two-year member of the Lions concluded his Saint Leo career this past season after appearing in 98 career games with an impressive .346 career batting average.

The utility player who appeared as an outfielder, first baseman and third baseman for the Lions signed with the Slammers on Friday, May 24. He appeared in his first professional game one day later on May 25 and went 2-for-5 at the plate in a 6-5 loss to the Schaumburg Boomers.

Morello joins a long list of former Monarchs and Lions who have went on to enjoy professional careers following their time at Saint Leo including six who have made it all the way to The Show. Those names include Frank Barrett, Fred Cambria, Jim Corsi, Brian Dayett, Frank DiPino and Bob Tewksbury
