BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's lacrosse team suffered an 11-10 overtime loss at No. 18 Lynn Saturday afternoon. The regular season closer moved the Lions overall record to 9-6, 4-3 in the Sunshine State Conference.
Trailing by four goals with less than four minutes remaining in the second quarter,
Ethan Ticehurst found the back of the net, assisted by
Tyler Eames to swing moment back to the Green and Gold huddle. The Lions' goal before the half, was the first of what would be a five-goal run.
Matt Shand opened the third quarter with an unassisted goal to bring the game within two (9-7).
Philip Buque took the cue and ran with it, netting back-to-back goals to tie it up at nine heading into the fourth.
Buque struck again, this time assisted by Shand, for the first Saint Leo lead of the game (10-9) with 13 minutes left in regulation. The Fighting Knights equalizer was scored by Mikey Urso at the seven-minute mark. The time ticked down from there, demanding an overtime period between the SSC opponents. Lynn took all of thirty seconds to claim the win off the stick of Nick McCabe.
Thomas Tatarian had an outstanding game in the Lions' net earning 20 saves. His work made up for Lynn's overpowering 49 shots with 31 on frame compared to Saint Leo's 37 takes with 19 on frame. The Fighting Knights also won the battle at the 'X' winning 19-of-23 faceoffs.

- Philip Buque and Andrew Buck each scored a hat-trick.
- Buck's hat-trick was tallied off four shots, all on frame. He also added an assist to his day for a team-high four points.
- Ethan Ticehurst caused three turnovers and picked up two ground balls.
- Thomas Tatarian earned 20 saves and picked up seven ground balls while causing two turnovers.
