Softball Series at Florida Southern Moved to Mid-Week

The SSC series has been moved to April 3-4

SAINT LEO, Fla. - Due to expected weather over the weekend, the Sunshine State Conference series between Saint Leo University and Florida Southern College has been moved to Wednesay at 7 p.m. and a doubleheader Thursday at 6 p.m. at Chris Belloto Field in Lakeland, Fla.

Wednesday, April 3 - Saint Leo at Florida Southern) - 7 p.m.
Thursday, April 4 - Saint Leo at Florida Southern - 6 p.m. & 8 p.m.

Softball Notes
  • Saint Leo heads to Lakeland after sweeping Lynn in Boca Raton, 2-1 (10 innings), 5-4, 1-0 to improve to 25-13 overall and 14-7 in conference play. 
  • Kacie Kelly paces the Green and Gold from the plate with a .361 average with 44 hits and 10 doubles. She has drove in 13 runs and has scored 25 of her own sitting. Kendyl Crean is the team leader in RBI with 28 where Shyanne DuBois is the team leader in runs scored with 29. 
  • From the circle, Sara Neuman carries the lowest ERA on staff at 1.08, just ahead of Auria Mounts' 1.88. Mounts has just passed the 100 innings mark on the year, standing at 100.1 innings of work with 68 strikeouts. Neuman, who has tossed 52 innings of work, is second on the team in strikeouts with 41. Sadi Avants (2.30 ERA, 6-1) has logged 45.2 innings of work with 28 strikeouts where Rachel Bean (3.46 ERA, 5-4) has logged 64.2 innings with 36 strikeouts. Mounts holds a 10-6 record on the year as Neuman stands at 4-2. 
  • Florida Southern hosts Saint Leo after dropping two of three at Barry over the weekend with scores of 7-3, 6-8, 5-8 to move to 14-19, 6-15 SSC. 
  • Celia Higgins leads the Mocs from the plate in average with a .349 with 39 hits and 12 runs scored. Jadin Dewith leads the team in hits at 34 where Jessica Trana is the team leader in RBI with 22. 
  • The Mocs have four pitchers on staff with Aubrey Ehlers holding a 13-9 record in 135.1 innings logged and a 2.28 ERA. Kelli Gault stands at 1-7 with a 5.18 ERA as Kristen Beacham is 0-3 at 3.94.
