SAINT LEO, Fla. – The No. 3 Saint Leo Lions ended the regular season in the win column blanking the No. 48 Embry-Riddle Eagles. The 7-0 win raised the Lions overall record to 18-4, 8-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. The SSC is slated to release the conference championship tournament seedings on Thursday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. Before the match, the Lions honored its three seniors:
Georgia Dobell,
Andrea Ivanovic and
Madeleine Gauthier.
The Green & Gold swept doubles play going 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 in their respective flights.
Georgia Dobell earned a 6-3 win at flight no. 3 in her final match at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
Andrea Ivanovic defeated her fourth singles opponent 5-0 in set one and won by retirement in set two in her last match at home.
Madeleine Gauthier battled to win a three-set victory during her senior day. Gauthier handed in a 6-2, 1-6, 11-9 decision, which earned the sweep for the Lions.
