LAKELAND, Fla. – Saint Leo men's basketball saw their season come to an end as the Florida Southern Moccasins got the buzzer beater to fall as the Green and Gold dropped an 80-78 decision inside the George W. Jenkins Field House.

Saint Leo (13-16) saw three players score double-figures led by
Yalen Reed with 18 points. Reed went 4-for-8 from downtown and 6-for-11 from the field.
Gintaras Bartaskas added 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the downtown while
Isaiah Hill chipped in with 13 points.

Forida Southern (22-7) will advance to the SSC semifinals after a 29-point performance from Brett Hanson. Jonathan Lawton was close on his heels as he tallied 24 points.

How It Happened
- Saint Leo and Florida Southern came out of the gates trading points where it was Yalen Reed pacing the Lions with nine quick points on 3-for-3 shooting from downtown in the first five minutes of action. The Lions held a 13-11 lead at the first media timeout, with 15:17 to play.
- Over the next eight minutes, the Lions and Mocs would continue to exchange points going back and forth where the Green and Gold held leads at the under-12 media and under-8 media, 19-17 and 27-26, respectively.
- After battling for the final 7:45, Florida Southern would gain the lead and head into the halftime break up four, 47-43.
- After a quick bucket by the Mocs, Saint Leo went on a quick 6-0 run to take a 51-49 lead heading to the media timeout with 15:55 on the clock.
- Yalen Reed would nail his fourth three pointer to tie things at 58-58 with just under 11 minutes to play before the Lions saw Isaiah Hill find Malik Fuller in the paint to push the Green and Gold ahead 60-58 forcing a FSC timeout with 9:45 to play.
- After back and forth for the next five minutes, Isaiah Hill continued to drive and score as the Mocs called time trailing 70-68. Kyran McClure uses a screen, fakes out the defender and drains a three to make it 73-68. FSC cuts it back to three with a putback, 73-70.
- Kyran McClure drove the lane and instead of taking the wide-open floater, found Hill in the paint to extend the Lions lead to five, 75-70 with 3:58 to play.
- Florida Southern erased the five-point deficit as the Lions went on a scoring drought before Gintaras Bartaskas nailed a three with 13-seconds to go to make it 78-78.
- On a last second scramble for the ball after a shot, FSC saw the putback go up and in as they won on a buzzer beater, 80-78.
