Beach Volleyball Notes
  • Saint Leo hosts Stevenson and Florida Southern in a doubleheader Thursday afternoon at the Saint Leo Beach Volleyball Courts.  
  • The Lions are 2-0 at home this season with a doubleheader sweep of UT Martin.
  • Saint Leo fell to Stevenson 3-2 last season in Lakeland while going 2-1 against Florida Southern a year ago.
  • The Lions defeated FSC 4-1 in Lakeland early in the season before falling 3-2 at home to the Mocs. The final match-up was at the AVCA Small College Championship where the Lions closed out the season with a 3-2 victory over the Mocs.

Women's Tennis Notes
  • No.3 Saint Leo swept Rockhurst 7-0, earning their seventh sweep of the season.
  • First singles #69 Marta Vicens Miquel holds a 9-2 season mark followed by #37 Krystina Jurkova with a 9-2 record in second singles. Nina Furmaniak has accumulated a 10-1 record in third singles for the Lions.
  • Florida Tech was defeated by No.1 Barry 7-0 in their last match.
  • The Panthers have gone 2-0 on the road this year.
  • The No. 6 Nova Southeastern Sharks are on a 13-game win streak. 
  • The Sharks defeated NAIA No. 2 Keiser 4-3 in their last match. They will face Sonoma State before facing the Lions on Sunday.

Women's Lacrosse Notes
  • The No. 24 Saint Leo Lions women's lacrosse team defeated Belmont Abbey 19-9 on Tuesday at University Turf Stadium to extend their perfect season start to 9-0 overall. 
  • Ferguson became the program's leading scorer with a total of 115 career goals after an eight-point performance (6g, 2a). The senior attacker had a perfect night earning a perfect shooting percentage going 6-for-6. She added seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.
  • On the season, Ferguson has tallied 41 points (31g, 10a) with an impressive .841 shot on goal percentage. She is followed by Janee DeLuca with 37 points (26g, 11a).
  • Delaney Chrisco has won 27 draw controls while picking up 28 ground balls.
  • In goal, Erin Davis has earned a 5-0 record while Rebecca Halley has gone 4-0.
  • Alabama-Huntsville visits Saint Leo on a hot two-win streak over SSC teams. On Tuesday, the Chargers downed Florida Tech 12-6 followed by a 19-5 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday.
  • Nicole Ferderovitch is the Chargers standout offensive weapon with 67 points (42g, 25a).  
  • Katie Gerber follows Ferderovitch with 35 points (25g, 10a). She has also leads the team in draw controls with 43.
  • Leslie Allen Brown has earned a 10-1 mark in the net with 71 saves along with a .497 save percentage. She averages 6.7 goals allowed per game.
  • Montevallo topped Lee 13-12 on Wednesday to snap a three-game skid. Freshman Anja Kuys led the Falcons in scoring with a career-high five goals.
  • Janey Johnson leads the Montevallo offense as the main playmaker with 23 points (4g, 19a). Ania Kuys (16g, 4a) and Jami Hudak (15g, 5a) each have 20 points. Kuys also leads the Falcons draw with 21 DCs.
  • In the net, Irfana Ahmed holds a 4-3 record after earning 63 saves with a .470 save percentage. She averages 12.86 goals allowed per game.

  • Saint Leo heads just down the road to the USF Bulls Invitational this weekend.. 
  • The Lions men picked up a first and second place showing at last year's event including winning the 800m. The women won the 5,000m last season as well.
  • Saint Leo is coming off a very successful trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational including Shane Bracken breaking the school record in the mile. The men's 4x200m relay also picked up a school record at the event.

Softball Notes
  • Saint Leo returns home to take on Eckerd after dropping two of three against Nova Southeastern last weekend The Lions opened up the series with a 7-4 decision before losing the next two games 2-0 and 1-0.
  • Kacie Kelly leads the Lions with hits with 39 base knocks. Shyanne DuBois is second in hits (37) yet leads the team in batting average (.385). Ashley Morris is both third in average (.351) and in hits (33). Kelly and DuBois are tied for the lead with nine doubles on the year.
  • Sara Neuman holds the pitching staff's lowest ERA through 13 appearances at 1.00 in 42 innings logged with 35 strikeouts. Auria Mounts leads the team in complete games (7), innings pitched (91.0), strikeouts (57).
  • Eckerd travels to Saint Leo after being swept in a doubleheader against #9 Valdosta State 8-0, 4-3 on Tuesday.
  • Nikole Van Gennep is the team leader in average at .323 where she has 30 hits with two doubles and nine home runs with a team leading 22 RBI.
  • Van Gennep has logged a pitching staff high 112.1 innings with 69 strikeouts for a 6-11 record. The rest of the pitching staff has a combined 94 innings logged with a 5-8 record and 27 strikeouts

Men's Lacrosse Notes
  • The then, No. 18, Saint Leo Lions unloaded a 16-8 final over the No. 10 Lindenwood Lions on Saturday. The offensive surge was fueled by senior attacker Charlie Kurtenbach who put up seven points scoring four goals and three assists in the national upset. 
  • The Lions climbed to No. 16 among the latest USILA poll released on Monday.
  • On the season, Kurtenbach has tallied 40 points (25g, 15a) followed by Philip Buque with 33 goals (24g, 9a).
  • Thomas Tatarian enters the SSC season opener with a 3-2 record between the pipes. Tatarian has already earned 70 saves paired with a .507 save percentage. He averages 13.3 goals allowed per game.
  • Palm Beach Atlantic men's led early but couldn't hold on against Saint Michael's on Tuesday afternoon as the Sailfish suffered a 9-5 setback at the hands of the Purple Knights.
  • Jackson Miller leads the Sailfish offense with 47 points (29g, 18a) followed by Townsend Brown with 42 points (20g, 22a).
  • Ben Savick holds a 6-4 record in the net after 127 saves for a .534 save percentage. He averages 11.1 goals allowed per game.

  • No. 4 Saint Leo is on an eight game win streak.
  • The Lions leveled Florida Tech 6-1 in their last match.
  • Bruno Faletto holds a 13-1 season record competing at the first singles spot.
  • Barry has defeated six ranked opponents this season: No.6 Flagler, No.1 Columbus State, No.8 Valdosta State, No.16 Embry Riddle, No.10 Hawaii HILO, and No.15 Hawii Pacific.
  • The Buccaneers are looking to keep their undefeated home record alive.

Baseball Notes
  • Saint Leo heads out of conference for a weekend series at Gulf South Conference foe West Alabama.   
  • The Lions are coming off a tough 3-0 sweep at the hands of second-ranked University of Tampa and look to rebound against a string Tigers team.   
  • Saint Leo took two out of three against West Alabama last season at home including a 2-1 victory and a 9-6 win.
  • Senior Jared Morello continues to lead the offensive threat for the Lions with a .383 batting average that includes five doubles, four triples and two home runs. He has driven in 21 runs and drawn 19 walks.
  • Senior Peyton Isaacson leads the team in RBI with 24 and home runs with five. Fellow senior and catcher Brett Coffel is right on his heels with 22 runs driven in.
  • On the pitching side, the Lions have seen seven different pitchers start games this season with redshirt junior Ryan Nolan leading the way with a 3-1 record.
  • Nolan has seen the most action on the mound going a team-high 39.0 innings. Junior Joey Antonopoulos, who has seen 29.1 innings of work, leads the team in strikeouts with 35.
  • West Alabama is coming off a 1-2 weekend against Shorter. The Tigers have faced two similar opponents as the Lions. West Alabama went 2-1 against Columbus State and 1-1 versus Lee. The Lions were 0-3 against CSU and 3-0 versus Lee this season.
  • Trevor Smeeton leads the UWA offense with an impressive .410 batting average that includes four doubles and two triples. He has driven in 13 runners while scoring 20 times himself. Taylor Clemmons has driven in a team-high 21 runs.
  • The Tigers have sent just four different pitchers to the mound to start games this season with Peyton Warren leading the way with a 2-0 record. Cole Waites has seen a team-high 36.2 innings of action while leading the team with 60 strikeouts.

Women's Golf Notes
  • Saint Leo returns to action after the Peggy Kirk Bell Memorial Invitational on Mar. 11-12 where the Green and Gold took third at 898 (+34).
  • Synne Lauritzen led the Lions after placing 14th at seven-over 223.
  • The Lions are looking to make it three straight wins at the Babs Steffens Hatter Invitational as Saint Leo beat out all 12 teams last year, and 11 teams from two years ago.
