MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Saint Leo men's track team continued its competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Lions posted four top-15 finishes on the day led by junior
Blake Watson who took sixth in the 3,000m.
Watson led a trio of Lions in the race. He crossed the finish line in 8:54.82. Freshman
Noah Quintana picked up a top-15 finish as he finished 13
th at 9:04.01. Sophomore
Hunter Chavis finished nine spots back in 22
nd after stopping the clock at 9:32.32.
Sophomore
Beau Kary took 14
th in the 400m after rounding the track in 55.43. Junior
Tristan Karuzis finished six spots back in 20
th in 57.02. The final Lion in the event was sophomore
Kenneth Covey who came in 24
th with a time of 1:01.68.
Junior
Shawn Bell was the final top-15 finisher for the Lions as he took 15
th in the 5,000m. He stopped the clock in 15:35.97. Junior
Tyler Pantley joined Bell in the race and finished 44
th with a time of 17:11.59.
Sophomore
Andrew Sands led a trio of Lions in the 200m. He took 20
th after racing down the track in 24.84. Freshman
Dante Woodard crossed the line in 25
th at 25.77 while sophomore
Garrett Lischke took 26
th in 25.92.
Freshman
Mason Lamb took 20
th in the 800m with a time of 2:04.51. Sophomore
Brandon Cruz came in 45
th after stopping the clock at 2:16.33.
The Lions also put together a 4x200m relay which finished 21
st in 1:43.65.
Woodard and Lischke took 60
th and 62
nd, respectively, in the 100m. Woodard finished in 12.17 while Lischke stopped the clock in 12.62.
The Lions will close out competition at the Shamrock Invitational tomorrow, March 16.
