Track Notes
  • Saint Leo heads north to the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. 
  • The Lions picked up one event victory last season at the meet as former Lion Anthony Deleva took home the 10,000m title.    
  • The women posted a one-two finish in the 5K at the Shamrock Invitational last season. The Lions also took first in the steeplechase and second in the 3,000m and 10,000m.
  • Sophomore Shane Bracken picked up a victory in the Lions season opener at the UT Track Invitational. He topped the field in the 1,500m.
  • Freshman Paige Patterson led the Lions in their opening meet of the season in 2019. She won the 5,000m at the UT Track Invitational while also running in the DMR as the Lions took the top spot.

Women's Tennis Notes
  • The No. 3 Saint Leo women's tennis team blanked the Ferris State Bulldogs, who is received votes in the latest ITA national poll. The 7-0 non-conference decision returned the Lions to the win column while moving their overall record to 8-2.
  • First singles Marta Vicens Miquel holds a 7-2 season mark followed by Krystina Jurkova with a 6-1 record in second singles. Nina Furmaniak has accumulated a 7-1 record in third singles for the Lions.
  • Rockhurst's four-match winning streak came to a halt on Wednesday. The Hawks suffered a 4-2 decision while facing Northwood University.

Men's Tennis Notes
  • The No. 6 Saint Leo men's tennis team earned its fifth-straight victory sweeping the Bulldogs of Ferris State 7-0 on Tuesday. 
  • Bruno Faletto, ranked 40th in the latest ITA rankings, holds a 10-1 record in first singles after facing two nationally-ranked opponents this season.
  • Rockhurst looks to snap a two-match losing skid. The Hawks dropped a 4-3 decision to Post on Tuesday followed by a 4-1 loss to Northwood University on Wednesday.
  • Post also holds a five match winning streak. On Wednesday, the eagles defeated the University of Texas at Tyler 5-2.

Baseball Notes
  • Saint Leo welcomes in the second-ranked Spartans of the University of Tampa.  
  • The Lions are 1-3 against ranked opponents this season with a 7-4 extra inning victory over No. 8 North Greenville to open the season and a three-game set back against No. 3 Columbus State.  
  • The Lions and Spartans have met 170 times on the diamond with the Spartans having a 127-43 edge in the series.
  • Saint Leo last won against Tampa April 25, 2015, a 12-5 victory at Tampa. The last win in Saint Leo came on March 29, 2005, a 6-1 win for the Lions.
  • Senior Jared Morello continues to lead the offensive threat for the Lions with a .393 batting average that includes four doubles, four triples and two home runs. He has driven in 21 runs and drawn 16 walks.
  • Morello and senior Peyton Isaacson are tied for the team lead in RBI with 21 each while Brett Coffel sits in third with 20.
  • On the pitching side, the Lions have seen six different pitchers start games this season with redshirt junior Ryan Nolan leading the way with a 3-0 record.
  • Nolan has seen the most action on the mound going a team-high 34.0 innings. Junior Joey Antonopoulos, who has seen 25.2 innings of work, leads the team in strikeouts with 30.
  • No. 2 Tampa dropped the first two games of the season but have won 17 of their last 20 heading into this weekend series. The Spartans are carrying a seven-game win streak in Friday while the Lions have a five-game winning stretch.
  • Senior catcher Danny Sirven leads the Spartans with a .411 batting average that includes five doubles, a triple, a home run and 22 RBI. Sirven and junior Yorvis Torrealba share the team lead in RBI with 22 each.
  • The Spartans have sent five different pitchers to the mound to start games this season with senior Mason Duke leading the way with an impressive 5-0 record. Senior Keven Pimentel has seen the most action with 37.0 innings pitched on the year and leads the team with 39 Ks.

Men's Lacrosse Notes
  • The No. 18 Saint Leo Lions suffered a 13-12 loss to the Maryville Saints, who received votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national poll. Maryville clinched the nationally-ranked win slinging the game-winner with seven seconds left in regulation.
  • The Lions overcome a slow start to tie the game at 12 in the fourth quarter after Maryville took a 5-2 lead after the first quarter. Philip Buque spearheaded the comeback efforts with seven goals taking nine shots.
  • Charlie Kurtenbach leads the Lions offense with 33 points (21g, 12a) closely followed by Buque with 32 points (23g, 9a). Both Lions have scored in every game so far this season.
  • Thomas Tatarian enters the game with a .474 save percentage alongside a 14.4 goals allowed average.
  • The No. 12 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team earned a 10-9 victory over the No. 19 Tampa Spartans on Saturday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
  • Carter Collins and Sean Darroch each scored two goals in the game to lead Lindenwood. Nolan Corker and Leonard Jones each accounted for two goals and one assist en route to three-point performances.
  • For Garrett Brunsvold, the game-winning score was his second of the season. Brunsvold also had the game-deciding score in Lindenwood's win over Lincoln Memorial on Feb. 16.
  • On the season, Jones leads the Lindenwood offense with 24 points (12g, 12a) followed by Darroch with 22 points (20g, 2a), and Carter also with 22 points (15g, 7a).
  • Both goalkeepers have shared the start, averaging an 8.57 goals allowed average.
  • Last meeting in 2018, the No. 14 Saint Leo men's lacrosse team claimed a 17-12 decision over no. 16 Lindenwood at University Turf Stadium.

Softball Notes
  • Saint Leo travels to Ft. Lauderdale to take on Nova Southeastern after sweeping both Flagler and Caldwell in midweek action. The Lions opened up the Saints doubleheader with a 4-2 decision before an 8-0 five-inning decision. Saint Leo returned home to host Caldwell and improved its streak over the Cougars to 10 straight after a 5-1, 5-0 doubleheader sweep.
  • Kacie Kelly continues to lead the Lions with a .394 batting average with a team-high 37 hits to her credit. Shyanne DuBois is second in average (.381) and third in hits (32) as Ashley Morris is third in average (.351) and second in hits (33). Kelly and DuBois are tied for the lead with nine doubles on the year.
  • Sara Neuman holds the pitching staff's lowest ERA through 12 appearances at 1.05 in 33.1 innings logged with 25 strikeouts. Auria Mounts leads the team in complete games (6), innings pitched (80.0), strikeouts (49) as well as holding opponents to a low .202 average.
  • Nova Southeastern hosts the Lions after a doubleheader sweep of Queens 12-0, 8-1 on Wednesday.
  • Suka Van Gurp is the team leader in average a .422 where she has 38 hits with nine doubles, three triples and eight home runs with a team leading 36 RBI.
  • Lexie Storrer has logged a pitching staff high 101.0 innings with 60 strikeouts for a 9-7 record. Miriam Schmoll owns a 8-3 record in 77.2 innings of work with 34 strikeouts and a team-leading 1.34 ERA.
