SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo junior
Kacie Kelly was named the Sunshine State Conference Softball Player of the Week after helping guide the No. 5 Lions to a 2-1 series win over No. 18 Palm Beach Atlantic over the weekend.
Kelly went 7-for-11 from the plate for a .636 batting average including a .909 slugging percentage with one double, one triple and five singles. With seven hits and one walk to her credit on the weekend, Kelly tallied a team-high .667 on-base percentage.
The junior middle infielder started the weekend with a 3-for-4 appearance at the plate, leading off the first game with a double, before a single in the third and fourth. The Jacksonville, Fla. native, scored a team-leading five runs on the weekend and tagged 10 total bases. In the field, Kelly recorded four putouts and had five assists, ending the weekend with a .818 fielding percentage.
This marks the first SSC weekly honor of the year for Kelly and the Lions where it is the third time in her three-year career she has been named the SSC Player of the Week.
