SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Lions and Nova Southeastern Sharks' Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action came down to the wire on Saturday night. The Lions clawed there way out of an eight-point deficit with 10 minutes left in the game. The Green and Gold's fourth quarter efforts tied up the game at 67-67 with 29 seconds remaining, off a deep three-pointer by freshman guard
Amanda Ulrich. The tight battle in the Marion Bowman Activities Center was stolen with good Shark's layup and free throw with less a second to spare for a 70-67 final.

Saint Leo (4-5, 1-2 SSC) held a 27-22 lead at the half but couldn't hold on as the Nova Southeastern (3-4, 1-1 SSC) Sharks forced the lead change in the third.

"We need consistent defense to win in this league," said head coach
Anthony Crocitto. "Tonight we didn't defend for all 40 minutes to take the win."

He continued, "We are seeing many solid offensive performances. We must remain hungry for more."

Ulrich finished the night with a team-high 21 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Alex Button and
Olivia Lough each contributed 16 points while Lough earned a team-high 10 rebounds in her career's first double-double performance.

- Olivia Lough followed her career-high 18 points at Florida Southern with her career's first double-double against Nova Southeastern. The night marks the sophomore forwards fourth consecutive visit scoring double-digits.
