Lions Ledger: WBB Set to Host Flagler in Thanksgiving Throwdown

  • Saint Leo enters its last game of November on a two-game winning streak. The Lions handled Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, 80-55, on Wednesday followed by an 82-67 SSC victory against Florida Tech.
  • Alex Button put on a show Saturday, going 8-for-10 from the floor. She was perfect beyond the arch with four three-pointers, recording a career-high 27 points. On the week, the sophomore guard averaged 19.5 points and seven rebounds per game. To start her second year, the New York product averages 13.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.
  • Amanda Ulrich has had a great start to her collegiate career. The freshman guard has scored in double-figures in five of the six games played. She leads the team's offense with a scoring average of 14.3 points.
  • Olivia Lough matched her career-high on Saturday against Florida Tech with a 14-point performance.
  • Flagler visits Saint Leo with a 2-2 season mark after facing four Sunshine State Conference teams. The Saints registered an 84-72 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday following a 71-51 loss against Florida Tech on Tuesday. To open the season, Flagler dropped a 78-69 decision at Florida Southern but bounced back on Friday, earning an 83-76 win at Embry-Riddle.
  • Tori Pearce scored a team-high 24 points to help upend PBA. Pearce scored 19 of her 24 points in the second half.
  • Rayven Wade leads the Saints' offense scoring an average of 13.3 points per game. She is supported by N'Mya Pierce with 11 points per game and Pearce with 10.3 points per game.
  • Last meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, Saint Leo edged Flagler 50-42 in St. Augustine, Fla. Casey Wortley tallied a season-high 14 points supported by Alani Gallagher's nine points and Gina Brierley's eight points.
