Panthers Upset Lions

Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. – The Saint Leo women's basketball team fell in a head-to-head battle with the Clark Atlanta Panthers, 62-59, on Thursday. The tight non-conference decision moved the Green and Gold's record to 1-3 while the Panthers improve their season mark to 1-2.

Alani Gallagher was a huge presence on the hardwood. Foul trouble forced the junior forward off the court while the action continued. The Panthers sunk a three-pointer to claim the lead at 55-54 with 2:18 left on the game clock. Gallagher came off the bench, snagged a missed shot off the rim, recording a lead change for the Lions, 56-55.

Alex Button's good free throw tied it up at 57-57 with 1:06 ticks left on the clock. From there, Clark Atlanta hit a pair of free throws and tallied a block to ultimately see the decision through.

"I am disappointed," expressed head coach Anthony Crocitto. "We will get back on the horse and look ahead to our home opener Wednesday night."
