SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 loss to No. 11 Rollins on Wednesday. The loss snapped a two-game win streak for the Lions, both earned on the road. The Sunshine State Conference (SSC) decision moved the Lions record to 5-4-1, 2-1 (SSC) while the Tars fourth-straight victory improved their season mark to 7-2, 4-0 SSC.
The nationally-ranked conference foes made their presence known early at the Saint Leo Soccer Field. The Tars netted a pair in the first half coming in the sixth and nineteenth minute. Kathryn O'Brien (6') scored her seventh season goal with a little bit of space in the right field. Julia Ortiz save, to register Rollins' second tally.
Carolina Solis-Deleon converted a penalty kick awarded in the sixty-first minute tallying her fourth season goal.
The Tars regained a two-goal gap with a backdoor goal in the seventh-fifth minute by Kathryn O'Brien.
The 90 minutes held 11 shots by the Tars alongside seven shots by the Lions. Ortiz recorded six saves in the action. She enters the weekend with 45 season stops.
Saint Leo returns to action on the road as the Lions travel to Barry on Saturday, Oct. 12 to face the Buccaneers at 6 p.m.
