LAKE NONA, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's tennis program invited Embry-Riddle, Keiser and Hillsborough this past weekend to host the 2019 Saint Leo Hidden Duals three-day tournament at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus.
Doubles swept all three opponents in doubles play facing Hillsborough on Friday, Keiser on Saturday and Embry-Riddle on Sunday.
In singles action, the Green and Gold went 3-3 facing Keiser with wins from number one
Marta Vicens Miquel (2-6, 6-3, 10-8), number two
Kristyna Jurkova (6-2, 6-2), and number three
Nastasia Jedrychowski (6-3, 6-4).
On Saturday, the Lions took flights one through five against Embry-Riddle and blanked Hillsborough, highlighted by a perfect 6-0, 6-0 match by number three
Nina Furmaniak.
The Lions look forward to the Youth Tennis Foundation (YTF) Championships slated for Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13 in Lakeland, Fla.
